First reported
in Physalis floridana; from Canada; by MacKinnon and Lawson (1966).
Natural host range and symptoms
- Brassica
campestris ssp. rapa - symptomless infection, even in complex with
physalis mild chlorosis virus.
Transmission
Transmitted by a vector; an insect; Myzus
persicae; Aphididae. Transmitted in a persistent manner.
Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms
- Physalis floridana - usually symptomless but
co-infection with this virus and physalis mild chlorosis (?) luteovirus
induce chlorotic vein-netting.
Diagnostically insusceptible host
species
Chenopodium album, Capsicum annuum, Datura metel, D.
stramonium, Petunia × hybrida and Solanum tuberosum.
